Snyder/Cavanaugh Burial Ground Cemetery
Apache County,
Arizona

In 1878 the notrious Snyder/Cavanaugh Gang clashed over dividing their loot. A heated gunfight occured on the hill behind this plaque. At least seven men died and their remains were buried here. There appears to be two burial plots next to each other. One has a headstone that says three un-known graves. The other says at least seven men died here. No names are known. The site is within the city limits of Eagar and on the west side of the hill that sits next to the Eagar Cemetery. It is located on River Rd, just south of AZ Hwy 260. The site is located between the road and the front yard of a private dwelling, very easy to find.
