May 7, 1821 (RI) - July 6, 1880
Samuel C. Whipple enlisted as a private at Downieville, California, on November 9, 1864, and was mustered into Company K, 7th California Infantry, November 21.
Private Whipple was posted to Fort McDowell, Arizona Territory, where he was mustered out March 19, 1866, by Special Order No. 18, Headquarters, Fort McDowell, A. T., dated February 26.
