This small cemetery contains 14 legible headstones and some unmarked graves. It is the burial site for Peter Slaughter and his family. Peter brought the first herd of Texas cattle into the White Mountains in 1881 and settled on a ranch on the Black River. He was the first cousin of the famous John Slaughter who settled in Cochise County. The cemetery is located in Springerville on Maricopa Dr, just east of S. Pima Drive on the south side of the street.
