Dr. Bralliar served as the town’s only physician from 1938 to 1945, and he owned and operated Wickenburg’s first hospital that he opened in 1937. He came to Wickenburg in 1936. Dr. Floyd Bralliar was Wickenburg’s only physician for 9 years.

(Friday, April 10, 1959)

Floyd B. Bralliar, fresh out of internship, started his practice as a physician and surgeon here 23 years ago. He’s still here and going strong.

From 1937 through 1945, Dr. Bralliar was Wickenburg’s only physician and surgeon. He is, in a sense, the father of our Community Hospital. When Wickenburg had no dentist, Dr. Bralliar pulled teeth. When Wickenburg had no veterinarian, Dr. Bralliar doctored horses and dogs.

He holds a private airplane pilot’s license, and his outboard motor boat held the Class C runabout record for four consecutive years. He’s the son of a distinguished scientist, agriculturalist and mathematician and must have inherited some of his father’s love for growing things as he’s an expert with flowers, landscaping and vegetable gardening.

All of that makes Dr. Bralliar one of Wickenburg’s most interesting pioneers.
