"Doris Winkler 1926-2008
Doris Winkler, a long time resident in Rucker Canyon, passed away on Feb. 11, 2008. On Jan. 14, 1926, the world received the gift of a loving, lovely and caring individual and 82 years later, the physical being of that gift was taken away from us. However, her memory will remain in the hearts of family and friends, forever.
Doris was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Charles and Carrie Seabaugh. They moved to Arizona when she was five years old. Doris married Bill Winkler on April 17, 1946 in Lordsburg, N.M. They have spent their entire married life on the Rucker Canyon Ranch. She was a member of the Cowbelles and the Homemakers. She drove the school bus for the Rucker School District for 39 years and retired in 1994.
Doris is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, a daughter Karen, son Rusty, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
