Served for 28 years, achieved the rank of Command Sergeant Major for NATO in Europe. Served in Germany, Korea, Vietnam and Panama at various times. Commendations and awards received, Combat Infantry Badge, a Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal with 6 Loops, the World War 11 Victory Medal, the Occupation Medal, the Distinguished Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Gallantry Cross with Palm Leaf. He was an Airborne Ranger and a member of Special Forces.
