Grant Webber Pearcy, 93, passed away May 16, 2005 at his home in Mesa. He was born February 7, 1912 in Londesborough, Ontario, Canada to Walter Tallmadge Pearcy and Della Irene Reeb Pearcy. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jamie Virginia Kinney who passed away in 1965. He married Gladys Denny Manning in 1969. They retired to Mesa and Lakeside from Minnesota in 1978. Grant was active in the Jaycees, Rotary, scouting and his church. He was a food chemist for Pillsbury. Grant is survived by his wife, Gladys; daughter Judith (William) Christianson, Red Wing, MN; son David (Rochelle), Gilbert, AZ; stepson Larry (Judie) Manning, San Jose, CA; stepdaughter, Linda (John) Cameron, Salt Lake City, UT; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 20th at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 7900 East Main in Mesa. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Gladys May Denny Manning Pearcy. The Phoenix Suns lost one of their most avid fans with the death of Gladys Pearcy on Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Born in Iantha, Missouri on March 20, 1916, the daughter of Nina and Dave Denny (she raised the population to 129). She was an all-star basketball forward and softball first baseman on her Lamar, Missouri high school teams and was valedictorian of her class. She married her high school class mate Alvin Manning in 1937 and raised two children. After Alvin's death in 1957, her business skills were revealed as she rose to be manager and buyer for the intimate apparel departments of two major Salt Lake City and San Francisco women's stores. After marrying Grant Pearcy, a widowed, Manning family friend from Fort Scott, Kansas, in 1969, she enjoyed twice as many children and grandchildren. Upon Grant's retirement, they became rock hounds, jewelry makers, square dancers, collectors of pottery, and life-long friends of all they met. . She is survived by her children - Larry Manning (Judie), San Jose, CA and Linda Manning Cameron (John), Salt Lake City, UT; Grant's children - Judith Pearcy Christianson (Bill), Red Wing, MN and David Pearcy (Rochelle Montagna), Gilbert, AZ; nine grandchildren - Robert, Theresa, Kevin, Eddie, Emily, Elizabeth, Sarah, Sabrina and Clinton; and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Alvin Manning in 1957 and Grant Pearcy in 2005. Gladys will be loved, missed, and long remembered for her love, friendship, courage, strength, and full commitment to whatever goal she took upon herself. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 23rd at 10 a.m. at the Mountain View Memorial Garden Mortuary, 7900 East Main, Mesa, AZ. Friends may call one hour prior to services.

This marker is located on the South side of the "Mausoleum of Hope" in Section N of the cemetery. CA
