He is the brother of James Rodney and Noma Beatrice HASTINGS. James is buried in East Lawn Plams in Tucson, Pima, Arizona and Noma Beatrice is buried in Mt. View Cem; Hayden, Gila, Arizona

Born July 28, 1917 in Bexar Co, TX. Died April 30, 2008 in Tucson. Survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Lois; daughter, Lois (Howard) Smith; grandsons, John George, David (Barbara) George and Don George; granddaughter, Teresa Cummings; great-grandchildren, Ben and Sarah George, Ryan and Jeremy Cummings.
Weldon grew up in Hayden, AZ, attended Arizona State on athletic scholarship, lettered in sports and was captain of the football team. He earned his B.S. in 1939, taught and coached at Thatcher, AZ, served in U.S. Army Air Corps 1942-45, partnered Townsend Floor Finishers (San Antonio) 14 years, earned his M.S. at Trinity University, taught and coached in San Antonio until returning to Tucson in 1965. He taught first at Rincon H.S. then was among first staff at Santa Rita H.S., retiring in 1981 as golf coach and chairman of the math department.
