Mary Trauscht's obituary:
"Mary Trauscht, a resident of the Phoenix area for over 40 years, died on Saturday, August 16, 2008. She was 92 years of age. Mary was born January 12, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois the oldest of seven children. Her parents were immigrants from Ireland. Mary was married to Bernard J. Trauscht, who passed away in 1983. They had three children, Maureen, Michael and Brian. In Chicago Mary worked for Marshall Fields and the Chicago School District. In 1965 Mary moved the family from Chicago's south side to Phoenix, Arizona. Her sons, Michael and Brian both graduated from Brophy Prep. Mary retired as a medical assistant from the Burn Unit of Maricopa County Hospital. She was a tough Irish lady who loved people and enjoyed life. She helped raise grandchildren Erin, Ryan and Kelly Ann who are graduates from Brophy and Xavier. She is survived by her brothers, Johnny and Don, and her sister, Fran, along with dozens of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great-grandchildren, Payton and Kailyn. Mary was a fun-loving person whom everybody enjoyed. Each of us will miss her greatly! She suffered a major stroke two weeks ago. Her best friend, Mary Ellen, was at her side 24/7 along with other family members and friends. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 22nd at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix with a luncheon (Irish Style) immediately following.
