Her obituary reads:
"Wilma Jean Elsey, 86, of Phoenix passed away peacefully Friday Oct. 21, 2006, at her home of 42 years, surrounded by her loving family. Born Oct. 12, 1920 in Nowata, OK, Wilma was the fourth of five children born to Harry and Ellen Clark. She spent much of
her childhood touring the Midwest with the Siebrand Brothers Circus. Wilma graduated from high school in Independence, KS and from Business College in Tulsa, OK. She moved to Phoenix in 1962 with five of her six children, and through her strong will, many sacrifices, and with steadfast determination, raised them single-handedly. She loved working in her garden, cooking, traveling, was an avid reader, and most of all loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her brother Merrill Clark of Tulsa and sister Helene Siebrand of San Diego, CA, and is survived by her sister Marie Webb of Lawton, OK and brother Kenneth Clark of Los Angeles, CA. Wilma leaves behind her 6 children, Carol (Richard) Henry, Joan (Harry) Cipriano, Jane (Larry) Borger, Edward (Judith) Elsey, William Elsey and Roger (Diane) Elsey; Eleven wonderful grandchildren, Michelle Clarke, Christy Cline, Jackson DeVaney, Jessica, Theresa, D'Anna, Valerie, Ryan, Bill, Miles, and Sarah Elsey; and nine great grandchildren Anthony, Misti and Vivian Clarke, Tyler, Alyssa and Collin DeVaney, Chloe and Piper Cline, and Lillian Elsey. Visitation from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday, Oct. 24th at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday Oct. 25th at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery 2033 N. 48th St, Phoenix. Memorial contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014."
